RegioWertGeBen kicks off its final project year with its first practical dialogue

In April 2026, the first practical dialogue of the year took place in the form of a strategic dialogue within the RegioWertGeBen project in the Ludwigsburg-Stuttgart organic model region pilot area.

In a broad-based group of ten people from overarching sectors relating to communal catering (ministry, food council, projects, practitioners), previously developed solutions for increasing the use of organic, regional food in communal catering were discussed and further refined. One aspect, for example, was which exchange formats exist in the region for kitchens and the wholesale trade, and what has proven successful in this regard.

In addition to discussions on the proposed solutions arising from the project, the new aspects and open questions that emerged during the joint discussion proved particularly valuable. For example, the idea of pooling demand through purchasing groups was suggested. In the next phase of the project, solutions for increasing the use of organic and regional food in communal catering in both pilot regions – Ludwigsburg-Stuttgart and North Hesse – will be further explored, assessed for feasibility and put into practice in the form of practical guides, events and workshops.
