Evaluation of the funding program in accordance with the Administrative Regulation on Community Irrigation Infrastructure

In 2021, the state of Baden-Württemberg enacted the Administrative Regulation on Community Irrigation Infrastructure. It was introduced in response to the impacts of climate change on agriculture (late frost damage, summer drought), as the existing options for irrigating agricultural land had reached their limits.

The IfLS was commissioned by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Food, Rural Affairs, and Consumer Protection to conduct an interim evaluation for the current funding period from 2021 to 2023. At this stage, the evaluation focuses in particular on assessing the program’s visibility and its implementation to date, as well as obtaining assessments regarding the achievement of the funding objectives. The evaluation is ultimately intended to provide insights so that improvements can be made to the funding program after 2024.
