From 18–19 October, the second practical workshop with partner initiatives of the AMuRaKK project took place at Reelkirchen Moated Castle in the district of Lippe. Reelkirchen Moated Castle is a ‘third place’ funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which contributes to socio-cultural diversity and vibrancy. The focus was on a lively exchange with the participating initiatives on various topics and challenges in arts and cultural work in rural areas.
Particular attention was paid to the following questions and steps:
- Work on a Minimal Map: Together with the participants, an overview of the relevant network partners was created to identify similarities and differences between the initiatives.
- Group discussions: The session devoted considerable time to the expectations and requirements that political programmes place on arts and cultural work. The focus was on the implications for local artists and cultural practitioners.
- Small-group work on policy analysis: In working groups, the participants examined various policy areas, including strategies, programmes and instruments, and analysed their relevance for arts and cultural projects.
The workshop provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen the dialogue between theory and practice and to foster further collaboration. All participants expressed great satisfaction with the results and the constructive exchange.
