Strategic Concept "Education for Sustainable Development" of the Bergstraße-Odenwald Geo-Nature Park

In accordance with the criteria of the National Committee for UNESCO Global Geoparks in Germany, the Bergstraße-Odenwald Geo-Nature Park is developing a strategic-didactic concept for the future orientation and design of the ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) offers of the Geo-Nature Park and its partner organisations. After having already been commissioned with the development of the management plan for the Bergstraße-Odenwald Geo-Nature Park, the IfLS also supports the Geo-Nature Park in the development of the ESD concept.

On the basis of the knowledge already gained in the process of preparing the management plan as well as an in-depth analysis of offers, needs and SWOT, the concept develops and elaborates target groups, potential contents and guidelines for the design of specific offers. This is done within the framework of a participation process together with regional ESD actors. Furthermore, the concept illustrates the implementation of the methodological-didactic ESD principles in an exemplary way. All existing offers and cooperations of the Geo-Nature Park as well as the formats developed together with partners are incorporated into the concept. These will be upgraded and further developed both in terms of content and concept.
