The Institute for Rural Development Research, in short IfLS, was founded in 1956 by Prof. Dr. Hermann Priebe. Ever since, it has been dedicated to agricultural policy, structural, regional and environmental policy and the development of agriculture and rural regions in Germany and Europe. The IfLS is an independent research institute at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, supported by a non-profit association.
In order to conduct high-quality research and provide targeted advice, our institute is divided into three working departments.
We are currently available not only at our head office in Frankfurt, but also at our three branch offices in Bonn, Freiburg and Magdeburg.
