Traditional cultural landscapes usually have a high diversity of species and habitats. From an agricultural point of view, these are often in disadvantageous locations. On the one hand, this results in the social challenges of nature conservation and the preservation of the landscape. On the other hand, agricultural enterprises face the challenge of maintaining their competitiveness.
The research project "Perspectives for Agricultural Diversification in the Field of Nature Conservation, Landscape Management and Municipal Services - LP-Diverse" investigates the question of potential business developments that landscape conservation itself and activities relevant to landscape conservation offer. The offer of municipal services, the role of promotion policy and the direct marketing of meat and dairy products as well as energetic utilisation of biomass from landscape conservation-relevant production are dealt with in more detail.
