Identification of motives for non-participation in Baden-Wuerttemberg's support programme for agri-environment, climate protection and animal welfare (FAKT)

The support programme for agri-environment, climate protection and animal welfare (FAKT) is part of the rural development programme of Baden-Wuerttemberg 2014-2020 (MEPL III). It is the follow-up programme to MEKA III, which formed the basis for the funding of agri-environmental measures in Baden-Wuerttemberg between 2007 and 2014. FAKT also includes support for organic farming and animal welfare measures.

With the beginning of the funding period it became apparent that FAKT would be used less by farm managers than MEKA III.

As part of the ongoing evaluation of Baden-Wuerttemberg's rural development programme (MEPL III), the IfLS was commissioned with an in-depth study. On the basis of interviews with farm managers, the reasons for the lower use of FAKT compared to MEKA III were to be investigated.
