In cooperation with the Institute for Housing and Environment (IWU) and „Infrastructure & Environment“ (IU) from Darmstadt, the Institute for Rural Development Research (IfLS) works out an integrated energy and climate protection concept (IEKK) for the district Vogelsberg in Hesse.
The concept represents the strategic superstructure of further actions concerning the field of “energy and climate protection” in years to come. The aim of the community of need – consisting of IU, IfLS and IWU - is to consider special local and regional potentials, room for manoeuvre and actors situations as well as to develop and to realize measures for lowering energy consumption, for raising energy efficiency and for the usage of renewable energies.
For that, the project is divided up into the two main phases “analysis” and “development of measures”. The essential component of this work is the meetings of the project and specialist groups. Furthermore, the IfLS accompanies the preparation of concepts with public relations (especially in building up and renewing websites). Finally, the project will be concluded with a forum and a document on the climate protection concept.
