On behalf of the Regional office for the environment Baden-Wurttemberg (LUBW), the IfLS prepares the part "large protected areas" of a state-wide concept for large-area nature conservation in Baden-Wurttemberg. The IfLS cooperates with the large protected areas of the country.With a national park, two UNESCO biosphere reserves, seven nature parks and a PLENUM area, the state of Baden-Wurttemberg has 11 areas dedicated to the protection of nature, landscape and environment as well as sustainable development. The different approaches and focal points of action are to be presented as part of the nationwide concept. In addition, public relations approaches are to be defined and coordinated and the possibilities for nationwide cooperation between the areas are to be explored and further developed.  The concept of the large protected areas in Baden-Wurttemberg will form the basis for closer cooperation between the areas and other players. It represents the basis for a coordinated development and focusing of the individual types of areas with their respective fields of action and approaches. On this basis, the protection of biodiversity and nature conservation-oriented regional development by 2030 should be successfully designed and a contribution made to the implementation of the biodiversity strategy of the state of Baden-Wurttemberg.
