The United Nations Member States adopted the 2030 Agenda aiming at peace, prosperity and the preservation of ecosystems and the climate. To reach the Seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the agenda targeted action on the local level is needed [see*].
The project "Decision Support for the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in Protected Areas - SDGimp" tackles this issue. The aim is to present the SDGs and approaches for their implementation. In addition, working materials for the implementation of the SDGs will be developed, e.g. checklists, decision templates and information materials. The aim is to reach different target groups like administrations of protected areas or municipal administrations, civil society organisation or businesses and business associations. The materials will be made available free of charge on an online information platform.
The IfLS is the project coordinator and works closely with six partners from five EU countries, each of which cooperates with a protected area. In Germany, the materials will be developed and used jointly with the St. Ingbert Biosphere Adult Education Centre and the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve. Further information on the individual partners will be available soon on the project website.
The project is financed by Erasmus+.
