The ‘Baden-Württemberg State Project for the Conservation of Nature and the Environment’, or PLENUM for short, is a concept developed in the 1990s for the nature-friendly and large-scale development of representative cultural landscapes in Baden-Württemberg. Under the motto ‘Protect through Use’, regional development plans were drawn up in six funding regions, PLENUM offices were established and nature conservation-related projects were funded. The district of Tübingen is the last active PLENUM region. Funding here will expire in 2027.
The Baden-Württemberg State Agency for the Environment wishes to conduct a final evaluation to examine the programme’s impact on the project area and to identify insights that can be applied to future regional development programmes. The Institute for Rural Structural Research (IfLS) has been commissioned to carry out the ‘Socio-economic Effects’ component.
In addition to the IfLS’s analysis of the socio-economic effects, Prof. Dr Jedicke is investigating the programme’s impact on nature conservation.
