Tsalka Local Action Group visits Germany

In the week from May 2nd to 6th we were visited by our partners from Georgia. A 20-member delegation from the LEADER region of Tsalka, including representatives of the local authorities and parliament, travelled with us on field visits to Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg.

The programme took us to the Dottenfelder Hof near Bad Vilbel to learn about organic farming and diversification opportunities such as a farm dairy, a farm bakery, a farm shop and a school farm. Likewise, we conducted an intensive exchange of ideas and information with the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economics on the implementation of the LEADER programme at state level.

Further project visits took us to the LAGs World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley, Hunsrück and Erbeskopf in Rhineland-Palatinate as well as to the LAG Hohenlohe-Tauber and the current LEADER applicant region Limes Region in Baden-Württemberg. A highlight here was the visit to the Gaierley Bridge in Hunsrück - a similar project was also realised in Tsalka - and a breakfast with District Administrator Dr. Neth from the Hohelohe district.
