Niche markets in agriculture

On 15 February, the consortium of the project Niche Markets in Agriculture met for a virtual kick-off meeting. The aim of the project is to develop information materials on niche markets in agriculture.

The project focuses on three thematic areas. The first topic deals with old crops, traditional products and the protection of biodiversity through historical land use techniques and the valorisation of these activities through appropriate customer communication. In the second thematic field, the possibilities of organic certification and short processing and marketing chains are presented. Finally, the prerequisites and possibilities of the surcharge marketing of products with the names protected designation of origin (PDO), protected geographical indications (PGI) and traditional speciality guaranteed (TSG) will be discussed.

At the kick-off meeting, the consortium coordinated by the IfLS discussed central objectives, the intended project results and organisational issues. Other partners in the project are ARID (PL), CIA Umbria (IT), HuL (DE), OnP (ES).

The project is funded as a Strategic Partnership by the ERASMUS+ programme.
