LEADER Region Rhine-Haardt adopts new strategy

The LEADER region Rhine-Haardt [link in german] adopted its local integrated rural development strategy (LILE) on 3 March. Afterwards, the process of creating the LILE and the contents of the LILE were presented at a public event.

The LILE was developed within the framework of a participatory process in which a total of over 130 people attended the kick-off and closing events as well as 8 expert group meetings. Relevant groups of actors from the region and citizens were thus able to contribute their project ideas to the strategy process.

The LILE is a further development of the existing strategy that the region has been implementing since 2015. In the future, cooperation will be under the motto "LIVING AND WORKING BETWEEN THE METROPOLES - TOGETHER INTO A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE". In order to realise this, around 80 project ideas have already been collected from the participation process.

With the LILE, the Rhine-Haardt region is applying for recognition as a LEADER region in Rhineland-Palatinate for the funding phase 2023-2029. The region commissioned the consulting institute KOBRA and the IfLS to develop the LILE. While KOBRA implemented the participation process, the IfLS worked out the new strategy on the basis of the event results and in consultation with the regional steering group.
