Investments in small farms in Baden-Württemberg

In 2022, a survey of 60 beneficiaries of the support for investments in small farms (IklB) was conducted as part of the ongoing evaluation of the MEPL III development programme in Baden-Württemberg. The measure is intended to contribute to the preservation of the cultural landscape by increasing labour management, animal welfare and the income of these farms. This ensures the long-term preservation of these farms and thus keeps open and maintains the associated land. A clear focus of IklB is on the Black Forest region, many of the farms are operated on a sideline basis.

The report presents the results of the survey. The survey collected basic information on the 60 farms, information on the objectives of the supported investments, their effects on farm processes and the cultural landscape, and on the funding process.
