Extension of the project 'Current and alternative utilization of non-marketable eggs'

The project 'Current and alternative utilization of non-marketable eggs', which deals with the valorization of non-marketable goods in small-structured laying hen flocks (up to 3,000 laying hens), has been extended until December 31, 2021. The results of the project so far have led to further research questions on various aspects, which will now be examined in more detail.

The Institute for Rural Development Research (IfLS) will look into the conditions for small laying hen farms to join producer groups as well as the conditions for small slaughter batches in poultry slaughterhouses.

The project takes place within the framework of the Federal Program Organic Farming and other Forms of Sustainable Agriculture, which is funded by the Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food (BLE). Project partners are Bioland Beratung GmbH and Demeter e.V.
