Where does Waldsolms stand today, and where is there still room for improvement on the path to becoming a smart village? These questions were the focus of the status quo survey in Waldsolms, in which over 160 residents took part. The survey was carried out as part of the RURALED project and provides valuable insights into the community’s current strengths and weaknesses, as well as the population’s ideas and expectations regarding the smart development of Waldsolms.
The results show that many residents see further potential for social interaction and collaboration. There is particular interest in projects that make everyday life easier – for example, through digital platforms or opportunities for community involvement. This includes, for instance, promoting community life by strengthening voluntary work. The aim is to reinforce existing structures and foster community life.
Based on these results, a workshop is now planned to develop a vision for the Smart Village Waldsolms. The aim is to work with residents, clubs, institutions and the local authority to develop concrete project ideas and areas for action.
