Lake Constance Foundation honoured with the Bioeconomy Innovation Award 2023 for CoAct

With the title "Clean water with renewable raw materials", the CoAct approach impressed the expert jury and the Lake Constance Foundation was awarded the Bioeconomy 2023 Innovation Prize for the CoAct project. The joint project is investigating how plant-based activated carbon for wastewater treatment can be produced from regional residual biomass. As part of the consortium, the IfLS is evaluating the economic viability of the site and plant variants developed by the project partners. The IfLS is also looking at the possibilities of embedding the CoAct approach regionally. The award ceremony took place on 20 November 2023 as part of the seventh Bioeconomy Day of the state of Baden-Württemberg.
