As part of the "Rural Infrastructure Initiative", the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs has launched the "Regional Services of General Interest Action Programme". 21 rural regions will receive financial and technical support to safeguard services of general interest in this model regional planning project (MORO) from the beginning of 2012 to the end of 2013. The LEADER region SPESSARTregional and the district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg have been selected for the pilot project with the support of IfLS and stadt.land.freunde, Berlin.
