Conception of the Local Development Strategy for the LEADER Region Lahn-Dill-Wetzlar

With a new local development strategy, the LEADER region Lahn-Dill-Wetzlar wants to build on the successes of the previous funding period and the work done in the past years.

The IfLS accompanies and advises the region in the conception, the participation process and all relevant steps up to the final application as a funding region in May 2022. Recognition as a funding region should take place in the second half of 2022 by the state of Hesse.

Through an active regional participation process, relevant content is developed that depicts the region in its current state and points the way towards the future. The participation process includes, among other things, analog and digital events and support through digital participation options, such as an idea platform for submitting initial project ideas or elaborated project sketches.

In addition to regional specifics, the Hessian state guidelines and state, federal and EU goals as well as societal developments are taken into account during the preparation.

The main components of the LES to be worked out from this are:

  • Regional description, incl. SWOT and needs analysis
  • Regional goals and underlying strategies
  • Starter projects
  • Action plan and implementation steps
