This research is a follow-up study and linked to the study “Regional processing and marketing of meat in the districts Gießen and Marburg-Biedenkopf” which was also created by the IfLS. The estimation of the demand potential for regional meat and sausage products took place by evaluating studies concerning different consumer groups as well as marketing and food trends. Findings were subsequently compared with the socio-demographic profile of the administrative district of Gießen to derive conclusions and recommendations for the district in terms of the demand potential for regional meat and sausage products.
