Utilisation of Baden-Württemberg's support programme for agri-environment, climate protection and animal welfare (FAKT)

At the beginning of the 2014-2020 funding period, it became apparent that the Baden-Württemberg support programme for the agri-environment, climate protection and animal welfare (FAKT) would be much less popular than its predecessor, MEKA III.

The IfLS examined the motives for participation or non-participation on behalf of the Ministry for Rural Areas and Consumer Protection Baden-Württemberg.

The results of the study show that there is still a high potential for participation among farms not participating in FAKT, especially forage farms. The reasons given by farmers for not participating are expected to vary according to the type of holding. In general, however, respondents cite as an important aspect that it is becoming increasingly difficult for them to comply with the various requirements of agricultural support.

The results of the study are summarised in a 19-page report which can be downloaded from the following link (available in German only): https://foerderung.landwirtschaft-bw.de/pb/,Lde/Startseite/Agrarpolitik/Begleitstudien
