On 1 September, almost 50 people gathered in the Festhalle Wörth to lay the foundation stone for the Local Integrated Rural Development Strategy of the Southern Palatinate region. The strategy is the basis for the application for recognition as a LEADER region in the coming funding period 2023-2029.
At the event, the previous activities of the LEADER region were presented in order to build on them. In the fields of action
1) Local recreation, tourism and culture
2) Quality of life, local supply and village development/urban development
3) Nature, cultural landscape and land management
4) Economy, climate protection and climate adaptation
aspects were collected which, in the view of the participants, already function well in the region, aspects which, in the view of the participants, represent a need for action, and project ideas which could be implemented in the future.
As part of a participatory process and in close coordination with the regional management, the IfLS is developing the strategy with which the LEADER region intends to apply for funding in the next funding period in March 2022.
