Smart Village-Toolbox online!

Following an intensive project period, the ERASMUS+ project RURALED has been successfully completed. The aim of the project was to identify the skills required to implement the Smart Village approach and, building on this, to develop learning materials designed to support stakeholders in rural areas.

As part of the project, a wide range of materials were produced, which will remain available beyond the project’s duration. The results are available on the RURALED website and are freely accessible via EPALE, the EU’s digital learning platform. Interested parties can access the materials there and use them for their own educational work.

The completion of RURALED has provided impetus for the further development of digital educational offerings and the dissemination of the Smart Village approach in rural areas, as demonstrated by our practical application in the municipality of Waldsolms. You can read the details in our newsletters: the first introduces the concept of Smart Villages and presents initial practical examples; the second details Waldsolms’ development on its path to becoming a Smart Village; and the third newsletter reflects on key insights from the Smart Village process in Waldsolms, the workshops with Hessian LEADER regions, and the dissemination event.

The project results make a lasting contribution to strengthening the key competencies necessary for the successful implementation of Smart Villages.
