Promotion of rural development in Baden-Württemberg - around 50 actors discuss the interim results

Since the beginning of 2016, the IfLS has been responsible for the ongoing evaluation of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Rural Development Plan 2014-2020 (MEPL III). Cooperation partners are the research group "Agrar- und Regionalentwicklung Triesdorf" (ART) and "UNIQUE forestry and land use GmbH" from Freiburg.

In 2019, the team carried out a comprehensive interim evaluation of the results and impacts of the rural development programme and its various support measures. These were discussed in Stuttgart on November 18th, 2019 with around 50 economic and social partners and representatives of the responsible Baden-Wuerttemberg ministries.

The evaluation team presented the results of the MEPL III measures and made recommendations with regard to the future funding period after 2020. The supplementary statements of the respective experts on the individual funding measures were very enriching for the discussion.

The separate presentation and discussion of the in-depth study on the faunistic evaluation of flowering areas also met with great interest. The creation of flowering areas is a measure which is supported by the support programme for agri-environment, climate protection and animal welfare (FAKT) as part of the MEPL III.

The results of the evaluation and the supplementary discussions provide a further basis for the state of Baden-Württemberg to prepare itself for the promotion of rural development from 2022 onwards. The process started in October 2018 with a workshop.
