Opportunities for nature and the region - workshops on accompanying measures in the chance.natur project 'New shepherds' paths in the Palatinate Forest'

Under the motto 'Nature with sheep and pasture', the chance.natur project 'New Shepherds' Paths in the Palatinate Forest' addresses how sheep can help to increase biodiversity in the Palatinate Forest region and preserve the cultural landscape.  The topics range from transhumance and open land to orchards and dry stone walls.

Since the topics can also offer added value for tourism and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), accompanying measures are developed in various online workshops and recorded in profiles.

In two workshops, the regional tourism experts first worked on the collection of project ideas and, after an online vote, in the second workshop on the elaboration of concrete project outlines. Ideas ranged from the further development of information boards to alternative overnight accommodations. A workshop on ESD activities linked to the chance.natur project will be held in September 2021.
