In May, the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture published a collection of findings and recommendations from the Federal Programme for Rural Development and Regional Value Creation (BULEplus).
The project “DigibeL – Perspectives and Applications of Digital Participation Processes in Rural Regional Development”, coordinated by the IfLS and carried out in collaboration with the IfKMW, was one of eleven research projects funded between 2020 and 2023. DigibeL examined the role and design possibilities of digital approaches in citizen participation in rural regional development processes.
The volume brings together perspectives from the social, economic and spatial sciences on both the opportunities offered by digitalisation for rural areas (e.g. in the fields of mobility or telemedicine) and the challenges that remain unresolved.
The BULEplus anthology can be accessed here.
Further information on DigiBeL is available on the project website.
