Developing short food chains - tips and tricks on the OnFarm Podcast

The Slow Food Youth Network (SFYN) has released two podcast episodes as part of the OnFarm project that provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities of short food chains. The first episode of the project "OnFarm: farmers‘ tips for short chain trade from farm to fork“ focuses on establishing short food chains from farm to fork. Experts from the Netherlands, Spain, the Czech Republic and Germany, among others, share their experiences and insights on the development of short chains. The second episode from the OnFarm project „A Colombian chef farming in Amsterdam: sustainable entrepreneurship“ introduces a chef who started a Solidarity Farm on the outskirts of Amsterdam and a food processing company. This episode discusses how short food chains can contribute to biodiversity conservation. In addition, the topic of waste prevention through food processing is the subject of the contribution. Finally, entrepreneurial tips for setting up a business or enterprise in the food industry are discussed.

The IfLS supported the first episode with an interview of the farm manager of the Kapellenhof in the Wetterau. Furthermore, within the framework of the OnFarm project, information and learning materials on setting up short food chains will be produced over the course of the project and disseminated on the project website.
