Five new operational groups in Hesse can now also be discovered interactively

During the 65th Agricultural Week South Hesse in Gernsheim on January 27th, representatives of five so-called Operational Groups (OG) received approval notices for funding totalling almost two million euros.

"Progressing climate change, scarcity of resources and structural change in rural areas are posing ever greater challenges for agriculture. By looking beyond our own noses, by thinking outside the box, rethinking and thinking laterally, we can further develop agricultural production and make it fit for the future. This is why I am pleased that this year we are again supporting five creative and interesting projects that aim to implement innovations in agriculture", said Priska Hinz, Hesse's Minister of Agriculture.

Like the 21 OGs approved in previous years, the OG "Humuvation", OG "Mulchgemüse Hessen", OG "Pflanzenkohle as poultry bedding", OG "Praxis-Forschung-Bienen" and OG "Tierwohl Milchvieh Hessen" are now also developing innovations to meet the agricultural challenges.

Since this year, the goals and proposed solutions of the 30 funded Hessian OGs and cooperations with their different thematic orientations and diverse members can be discovered via an interactive map.

Further information on funding and the approved projects can be found on the website of the Hessian Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. The IfLS supports and networks the approved OGs and cooperations as Hessian Innovation Service Provider (IDL) in the implementation. Already in the application phase, the IfLS was responsible for advising the groups and supported the procedure as a whole by involving additional experts. In addition, the IfLS supported the funding agency in the implementation of the measures and initiated the aforementioned interactive map in the process.
