Exciting exchange with European neighbours

By participating in the European Innovation Partnerships "Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability" (EIP-Agri), the State of Hesse aims to promote innovation purposefully and to close the gaps between practice and research. To look beyond the national horizon and gain inspiration, the IfLS, as Hessian innovation service provider, took part in the transfer visit of the German Networking Centre to Belgium and the Netherlands. Together with representatives of operational groups from Hesse and other federal states and other innovation service providers, they met in Leuven, Belgium

Aside from interesting lectures on the general implementation of EIP-Agri in the two neighbouring countries, the programme included visits by participants to operational groups. Luc Salens from the OG "Lean with love" explained the possibilities for process optimisation in the cleaning and packing of chicory grown in soil. Representatives of the pc fruit consulting centre presented innovation projects from fruit production that deal with selection processes for the customer-oriented development of new fruit varieties and defensive measures against forest bugs in organic pear cultivation.

The many suggestions and new contacts will flow into the implementation of EIP-Agri in Hessen.
