European exchange - A training programme for the first steps into agriculture

The IfLS aims to contribute to the transfer of knowledge between research and practice by developing learning materials for new entrants to sustainable agriculture. During the LEAN project meeting, partners from France, Italy, Poland and Lithuania exchanged views on what educational opportunities are needed and how they can best be provided.

Within the LEAN project, learning modules on sustainable agriculture, specific cultivation techniques and entrepreneurial skills will be developed. The modules consist of text and audio materials. In addition, learners can test what they have learned in small quizzes. Practical examples of successful newcomers to ecological or sustainable agriculture complement the learning platform. In addition to farms with different branches of production, businesses complementing agriculture with additional innovative branches that are active in education, direct marketing or other areas are presented.

The training programme and best-practice examples are to be developed by autumn 2019. They will be available in German, English, French, Italian, Lithuanian and Polish.
