The kick-off event at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Agriculture in Brussels marks the start of our collaboration on the framework contract for analytical services related to farmers’ knowledge and skills, as well as the social and societal aspects of agriculture and rural areas.
The consortium is coordinated by ADE and includes our long-standing partners such as the Countryside and Community Research Institute (CCRI) from the UK, the Council for Agricultural and Economic Research (CREA) in Italy, and ÖIR from Austria.
The aim of the framework contract is to evaluate the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and examine its impacts on various sectors. Over the next five years, we will analyze the social, societal, and knowledge-based dimensions of agriculture and rural areas through individual thematic studies and evaluations. The topics primarily include generational change—including access to land—the vitality of rural areas, and ensuring food quality.
The IfLS looks forward to making a significant contribution to this important project and to actively shaping the future of European agriculture and rural areas.
