Alternative Financing for Agricultural Enterprises - Organic Field Days 2019 Show High Demand

"We want to buy land - where do we get the money for it?" Questions like these were the prelude to numerous discussions that the project staff had with farmers, representatives of consulting and research and other interested parties at the BioFinance booth. Together with other projects funded by BÖLN, the research project on alternative financing models in organic agriculture and the food industry was represented at the nationwide Organic Field Days on July 3 and 4 2019 at the Hessian State Domain Frankenhausen.

The response to the results of the joint project of IfLS, HNE, BNN and SÖL was high. Both an immense need for basic information on the functioning of individual models (such as crowdfunding) and a strong demand for funds from alternative sources for concrete investment projects became clear.

The great interest was also confirmed by the presentation of project results by Simone Sterly (IfLS) during the panel discussion "Opportunities for new organic products: Opening doors with innovative ideas for marketing and financing" confirmed at the BÖLN Forum on July 3.

For the BioFinance team, this is an additional motivation for further project work until March 2020, which will culminate in online decision support for companies and potential investors on alternative financing models.

The presented posters with selected partial results of the project are available as PDF files here (in German).
