Agricultural innovation projects in Hesse: first results

In Hesse the support for innovation and cooperation is very popular. So far, a total of 31 EIP-Agri projects and five cooperations have been funded. Now the first funding period with "Innovation and Cooperation" is coming to an end and more and more Hessian Operational Groups (OG) and cooperations are finalising their projects. A total of eleven projects have already been successfully completed, and several others are currently in the final stages, such as the OG Hessischer Hofkäse.

The aim of the project was to sustainably improve craft milk processing for the more than 100 Hessian farmhouse cheese dairies by systematically registering and developing strategies to avoid cheese defects. For this purpose, a so-called cheese error database was developed within the framework of the project, which can be used free of charge. In this proactive database, various error causes and remedial measures are presented in detail, thus counteracting the lack of specialist literature for craft cheese dairies. In a short film by DVS, the project around the cheese error database is clearly presented.
Another EIP-Agri project in Hesse was recently completed with the OG Mehrwerte Sozialer Landwirtschaft. The aim of the OG was to investigate and support the potential of social farming for the development of agricultural enterprises in Hessen.

All projects funded in Hesse can be viewed on an interactive map. As the Hessian innovation service provider, the IfLS advises, networks and supports the OGs and cooperations in the planning and implementation of their projects.
