5 times around Romrod

O June 5, the official go-ahead for the development of the SILEK was given at the community centre in Romrod. Mayor Dr. Birgit Richtberg and the IfLS, which accompanies the development and the process, invited to this public kick-off event. At the beginning, Hanfried Böttner from the Office for Soil Management in Fulda solemnly handed over the permit to the municipality.

Focus of the evening were the so-called district tables. At these tables about 40 citizens discussed the attractive areas of the outer area of the five districts Romrod, Zell, Ober- and Nieder-Breidenbach as well as Strebendorf, but also the ones in need of improvement. In some cases, ideas have already been developed as to how potential can be exploited or how difficult areas can be improved.

In the following months, the above-mentioned topics and ideas will be further elaborated and lead to an implementation concept. The participation of all citizens is important so that the ideas are not just developed on the drawing board. The IfLS accompanies this process, organises the participation together with the city of Romrod and provides technical support on the main topics of agriculture, landscape development and nature conservation, water management and flood protection as well as local recreation and leisure activities.
